REBLOG THIS ORIGINAL POST IF YOU WANT TO WIN IDOL SOCKS!!!“JJANG!” of the Day: Hot Namja in Transit
There is something insanely romantic about interactions on the subway. Eyes meet, avert, and try to reconvene again without giving away too much motive. This is especially more intense when those eyes belong to a hot Korean Namja (“man” in Korean). I swear, not a day goes by in this city that I don’t come face to face with a unfairly attractive Korean man, and while it is becoming painful to my friends back home to have to sit still and listen to every run in I have with them, I figured my fellow Kboy enthusiasts here might be able to fangirl along with me.
I was on my normal subway route (the green line number 2) a few weeks ago after a long day of work. Hot namja, per usual, was sitting nearby to my right, separated by 3 empty seats, watching tv on his phone (Korean phones all play television for free!!! Jjang!) He didn’t see me when he first got on the car, but I played the “I am a lost foreigner and need to get up to look at a map right in front of you” card. Worked like a charm.
Awkward glances were exchanged, interest was feigned on ads lining the subway car to have a better peripheral view of each other, and all too obvious moments were spent pretending to stare out the window while really using the reflection of the glass to check the other out (Koreans love to use this trick on the subway to stare at me as a foreigner, I assume, without realizing it works both ways kk).
We played this game back and forth, and I received a few smirks when he knew I was looking that will forever be burned into my memory. Thinking I am really slick, I pull from my purse a flyer for a party that was happening that weekend. In the reflection I see him take notice and appear to be trying to read the details.
Two stops later he gets up and walks to stand near the doors. He glances back, I smile. Five more seconds and I will never see him again. I muster the courage and push forward on my seat in the attempt to get up and hand him the flyer and maybe think of something cute to say in the process(no chance, I still got nothing). Instead, I drop the flyer on the ground and loose my zeal, gusto, or hwaiting, if you prefer.
In failure, I sit back into my seat and watch him step off the train, glancing back a few times as he passes the windows. I see the last glimpses of his trendy fluorescent colored New Balances as he exits the station and feel regret all over. It lasts for the next two stops, until a pair of shined brown leather wingtips catch my eye and force me to raise my chin from the last endeavor’s let down.
The wingtips take a seat across from me, revealing to be attached to the most attractive namja I had seen in quite a while. We make eye contact and he smiles as if to say “Everything is going to be ok, cheer up” I did not see the first boy at the party that weekend but that’s ok, there were more than enough Korean boys to distract me. ^_^ JJANG!
If that isn’t Jjang enough for you, here is my incredibly creepy collection of “Namja in Transit” pictures. These are photos I have snapped of attractive/well dressed/all of the above Korean boys. Some were willing participants and others were innocent victims, generally on their way to somewhere else, hence the “in transit.” I intend on taking many more so this is only the first installment:
Too cool on his way to school…I presume.
The man purse just did me in.
I was too scared to get how great the front of his outfit was, just trust me.
Man bun, harem pants, and harry potter glasses. Check, check, and check.
He looks like he could almost pass for Shinee’s Minho. Could those pants be any tighter?
Mr. Dalwon is always a willing model on our breaks from work. Again with the tight pants.
A good friend, Doo, is just an all around babe and always has the best style.
As for the “Jjang of The Day Giveaway” that we discussed in the last post has a clear winner, but it was very close! http://strawberriesandsunbeams.tumblr.com has won a Couple tee set with their styling in mind!
