I don’t feel so creepy talking about it now since I stalked their facebook already and they made a status in Korean about our encounter on the subway. And…yes, I do know what that last sentence sounded like! ^^ We have a date this Friday. I am a bit confused as to how they identify though. She has a female Korean name, but a masculine sounding facebook name. Whatevs… a babe is a babe. Since she gave me her Korean name personally I will go with that.
Jeremy and I decided to go to emart for whatever reason so we headed to Sangsu station. I knew it was her as soon as I saw her sitting on the benches waiting for the next train. I made some dumb eye contact and immediately ran away from Jeremy. Having a bff of the opposite sex in Korea is a guaranteed cock block. He started to follow me so I gave him the stink eye…he had no idea what I was doing and looked at me like I was crazy. Ultimately opting to not bother and try to discern what the hell I was doing by power walking one subway car further away than usual when there was no queue at the one we were currently at, he sat down far enough away from me to just be some other foreigner. However…I was left without a seat, which resulted in an awkward internal dialogue of “Should I stand to the side and make weird eye contact through the reflection of the glass or be super ballsy and stand right in front of her?” I opted to stare at my phone and give up.
The next stop. The girl that was sitting directly across got up. Clearly, this day was not allowing me to wuss out. The following seemed like it was plucked ripely from my favorite scene in “Before Sunrise” when they are in the record store. anyone? You stare at me when I am not staring at you…vice versa…you get it. A few stops later she got up, handed me her card and told me to call her.
I didn’t even wait until my stop came before I added her on Kakao and said hello. *face palm* haha can’t help it! I have no game.
Anyways…so yeah. We are getting dinner this week. She owns the bar I saw her at. Lets hope this doesn’t go badly, because I like that place!
And I know I am not an anonymous blogger like some of you awesome “dating in seoul” blogs are…but I want to give my “prospects” cool code names too! I’ll think on it…
My blog has been more text based today that I feel it ever has. odd. ^^
