First hand account of “teaching English in Korea illegally”

When immigration comes you find a window and jump. Granted, I have an actual visa, but it’s not for teaching so I’m just getting the light punishment. A lovely meeting at the immigration office in a few days to pay a hefty fine (I have an estimate of 500,000 won but we shall see).

Overall, I am relieved. I don’t like teaching one bit and I felt a responsibility to my friend who got me the job to continue with it.

I also have been meaning to go to immigration to ask about changing my visa status so being forced to go with the threat of increasing fines is likely the only method that would have gotten me there any faster.

How’s that for posi lifestyle!? ^_^
